I have inherited UFOs. I think I will take this one on someday. What you see above are three sections of different sizes laid out in position. Then there are hundreds of little squares and triangles in ziplock bags.Does anyone recognize the pattern? I think I could study the way the seams are pressed to decide the sequence for piecing, but if I could locate instructions, that would be simpler. I wonder if the hand drawn diagram means that it's an original, though.

Having your own UFO's is bad enough but inheriting others is mind boggling!! Best of best of luck.
ReplyDeleteI've seen designs like this in The Quilters Newsletter. I remember one issue where they showed something like this and had the blank template where you filled in the color yourself. I think they did that in a few different issues with different shapes to focus on. Sorry - I don't think I have it anymore. I've gotten rid of most that I did have except for a few that I hope to make something from some day.

ReplyDeleteWhat a nifty pattern. It sure is pretty. I've never seen it before, but then I am not a quilter by any means, LOL! That is so cool that it came with that diagram. It probably is an original! One of our quilting friends would probably know.

Ann sent me a wonderful key to seeing the component parts. I can see it so much more clearly now.
ReplyDeleteFox sent this to me. One of these is an Ohio Star - the darker one more distinct one. The other one looks like a Martha Washington Star with a border added to it to fit into the pattern. I can't place the whole thing (border included) and I have looked through a book of some 4,000 blocks. Looks like the designer might have put these two together with some additional well worked piecing. Hope this helps.
