Designer's Faux Pas

I did that thing you're not supposed to do when designing.  I didn't write down what I was doing as I went along.  I thought I would get back to it while I still remembered what I was doing... and I didn't.  And I also tell myself I can always go back and count stitches, but I didn't take into account that I'm using very small, very pale thread.  Oops.  I hit on the solution to scan it and then blow up the picture real big. That helped... a little... maybe.

Later:  Hmmm...maybe next time, up the contrast with Photoshop too.

  1. It's funny how you always think you'll remember what you did, even though experience should tell you otherwise! I hope this solution does the trick.

  2. Oh, I hate fox paws. They seem to sneak up behind me when I least expect them!

When you get 'old' you can sometimes use 2 pairs of reading glasses (worn at the same time) as a 'magnifier' to help you count stitches in tiny thread. Helps in un-tatting mistakes tatted with very small thread, too. ;-)

  4. My problem is when trying, repeat trying to design something I do exactly the same as you did, think I will remember what I have done. Just can't waste time stopping to write things down!!! Good luck with this design

  10. I use a magnifying app on my phone to figure out patterns tatted by my grandmother. It's amazing how much detail you can pick up!
