Humongous Psychedelic Teapot

When I started working on a book of tatting patterns with buttons, I just assumed I had plenty of buttons on hand.  But when the time came to test the patterns with larger threads, I was surprised to discover how few large buttons I actually had.  Not to mention how little good quality size 10 thread.  Going shopping was out of question this weekend, so I stirred and stirred through my buttons until I found a handful about the same size.  Worked up in size 10 thread, it came to 6 3/4 inches across.  I thought it was garish, if not scary at first, but I think it is growing on me.

Things are looking good right now to have the book finished in early September.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

By the way, I am no longer getting email notifications when there are comments awaiting moderation.  I don't know if that's a Blogger thing or a Yahoo mail thing.  I try to remember to check, but sometimes I forget.

  2. There’s definitely a place for big and bold! Splendid. It’s a blogger thing, they stopped sending notifications. And didn’t notify about the change.

  3. It’s a blogger thing, Martha and very annoying too. I now have to remember to go to the dashboard to look for comments awaiting moderation! More exercise for BC3, though!

About comment notifications - see my post of 4th June ('swept away').
Easiest way is to click 'Notify me' as soon as you post something new on the blog.

    1. Thanks for the tip. I haven't found "Notify me" on the screen yet. Does it only appear when you post?

    2. At the end of each post, where Comments start, you will find Notify me on right bottom of comment box. There is a small box before this, which you click on (a tick mark appears). All comments will be notified through email as before if you click it after uploading.
I'll email a screenshot marking the area.

But for old posts, you either go back and click on each or check blogger Comments on dashboard once in a while - just in case someone leaves a comment on an earlier post.

    1. I get the "Favorite Findings" packs of mixed buttons at the fabric store, and always keep an eye out for buttons at yard sales and thrift shops.
