Almost Famous

I am almost famous in the real world.  I won an honorable mention in this year's Piecework Magazines pincushion contest. Yay me!

I wondered at first if it was my iffy sewing skills that kept me from being a first place winner.  But then I saw the winners' pictures and saw how they thought (and designed) way outside the box.  Then I was surprised my entry was even in the running.

 I enjoy Piecework because it has articles on assorted types of vintage needlework and sometimes has some tatting.

    Your pincushion is very pretty. I'm surprised it didn't win first place. It would have been difficult to choose - glad I was not one of the judges. All the pincushions were cute. Congratulations!

    Congratulations! Piecework is a prestigious magazine and it has been including tatting more often, so it's great to see your work represented here. Your pincushion almost looks like a frosted cake - yummy! Will you get the pincushion back so we can see it in more detail?
